Hello I am the church. 860 KB/ There are over 50 ancient churches in the parishes along the course of the river Teme, many date from Norman times and have changed little since. From the records we know that the story of the Christian church in this area is older than the church buildings. For over a thousand years the story of the rural community around here has been intricately connected to the church. Our stories will enable you to discover more about those links. We invite you to consider how the Teme Valley story relates to the story of your own community. The Stories from the Stones pilot supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund has enabled communities to start to tell the local story through and in the church building. Listening posts, designed and developed by ATS Heritage, have been approved for use in listed church buildings. Each post has two handsets and a telephone socket to attach mobile phones. For large parties it is possible to arrange for the sound to be distributed through the church sound system. Contact us in advance of your visit to make arrangements - there will be a small charge for this service. |
