WHAT DO HERITAGE DETECTIVES DO?
WHO IS ARTHUR?
Arthur is Arthur de Caldicot the fictional hero of a trilogy books for children of all ages written by author and poet Kevin Crossley-Holland.  Arthur lived in the Teme Valley area in the early 13th century. This was the time when many of the parish churches we still use today were going through their first make-over and some have changed very little since.

Good stories offer us a  way in  to the past, they help us develop and use our imagination.  In The Seeing Stone,  the first book of the trilogy , 13 year old Arthur stands on the top of Tumber Hill, looks out at all the countryside around about him, and wonders about the lives of all generations of people who have been there before him.  This is just what we want 21st century Heritage Detectives to do when they are on a Quest.

Arthur de Caldicot is the fictional hero of a trilogy of books by Kevin Crossley-Holland. The Seeing Stone is the first book in the trilogy.
