We think that the Teme Valley is a very special place and we are on a mission to find out more about what has happened here over the centuries. This is border country, the place where England meets Wales, it's beautiful, tranquil and quiet today but the evidence of so many ancient castles, now in ruins, plus the stories, the ancient legends, hint at a past that was very different. For centuries the English and the Welsh were enemies, fighting one another, stealing each other's cattle and despising each other's people and laws. Why? What has happened to change things? Can what we learn about life in the past, in the Teme Valley, and use this knowledge to make a difference to how we live now and in the future?

Gradually we hope to make this web site a place for everyone interested in finding out more about their own special place but first we need your help here in the Teme Valley. We need you to join us as heritage detectives.

Whether you explore in a car, on a bicycle or horse, on foot or even in a canoe, heritage detectives always start their work by looking at and thinking about what they can see around them. They explore with a sense of wonder.
