Discover history and heritage on short circular walks in the beautiful Teme Valley countryside
The countryside is full of footprints: every generation has left them behind. Some are obvious, most are not, they quickly fade and soon completely disappear. On a Parish Heritage Walk you will walk in the surviving footprints and discover the stories that go with them. All Parish Heritage Walks start with a visit to the parish church where you can switch on a Stories from the Stones Listening Post to unlock the story of the church and its parish before following that story out into the parish. Each Parish Heritage Walk comes with an accompanying audio. These will be available in July 2008: as downloads in mp3 format and as CDs by mail order from this site. This week's featured walk has an archaeological theme. Join Deborah Overton and Rob Swinton in the parish of Cotheridge. Trace ancient holloways and discover signs of medieval agriculture in the landscape of the 21st century; discover more about medieval manor houses, deserted villages and the Black Death in Worcestershire.
